Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has run into trouble again, and this time, it is not the Shiv Sena or the Congress but the Tamil groups that is troubling him. The Tamilians are not happy with the decision of the IIFA to hold this year's awards function in Sri Lanka.
Amitabh has been targeted by Tamil group all over the world, as he is the brand ambassador of IIFA. He promoted the IIFA film festival last week in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Many Tamil film personalities are expected to attend the film festival, which is to be held from June 3rd to 5th.
Director Seeman, a Tamil activist, had earlier threatened to boycott Bachchans' films in Tamil Nadu if the IIFA film festival is held in Sri Lanka. He staged a protest a couple of days ago, urging him to boycott the festival.
“A Tamil Group picketed my houses this morning, asking me to not conduct IIFA in Sri Lanka !! I beckoned personnel from Wiz who own and conduct IIFA to come and meet me to discus this matter and give it due importance. I believe Wiz craft personnel met representatives of this protest presentation along with the Police personnel that came over from the Juhu Police station, heard what they had to say, accepted a petition given by them, explained to them their side of the story and told them that the Governing body of the event would meet immediately to conference on this matter and reach some kind of final path and solution. Sentiments of all must be respected and I hope that we can plan and execute that with understanding peace and grace," Amitabh wrote on his blog.
The much-hyped film Raavan starring Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Bachchan and Vikram is expected to be screened at the IIFA film festival.
