Ranbir Kapoor has every reason to be happy, as his latest film Wake Up Sid managed to make a superb opening. It is doubly sweet for the upcoming actor, as his first two films Saawariya and Bachna Ae Haseeno flopped at the box-office.
Sources said that Wake Up Sid witnessed 90-100% opening at PVR Cinemas while Cinemax had 70-75% opening. The surprise factor was that, it opened very well at smaller centres like Indore and Aurangabad.
Wake Up Sid is expected to become a hit, as it has earned good word of mouth. Karan Johar, producer of the film, has earlier said that everybody could relate to the story of the film.
Ayan Mukerji, who assisted Karan Johar in Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and Ashutosh Gowarikar in Swades directed Wake Up Sid. Konkona Sen Sharma plays the female lead role and actors like Anupam Kher, Supriya Pathak and Rahul Khanna play different vital roles in the film.
