Shiney Ahuja's wife Anupam Ahuja is firmly standing behind him in the alleged rape case involving their maid servant. While addressing the media Anupam stated that she understand rape is a very heinous crime and even a woman can rape a man and in this case her husband was the victim. She also paraded more than 20 of her neighbours to give a testament to Shiney's good character.

Criticising the media for their role in the case said that her husband was being pronounced guilty even before the case had reached the courtroom. Anupam said that her husband is paying the price for being a celebrity as they are soft targets. She reiterated that Shiney has always been a loving husband and a caring father.

When reminded that the medical tests conducted on the girl confirmed rape, Anupam hit back at the media questioning how many of them had seen the medical report. She added that there were contradictory reports in the media about the medical test and case has to be fought in court and not in the media. She summed up saying she had full faith in the law of the land.
