In what could come as a major blow to Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja who is accused of raping his maid servant Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said that Shiney has indeed raped the girl. Chavan said this while addressing the media along with National Commission for Women chairperson Girija Vyas. He justified his stand saying that preliminary medical tests done on the girl clearly indicated of rape. The comes at a time when the police is still awaiting the DNA report to confirm the identity of the person who committed the crime.

Girija Vyas was in the city to meet the victim. The girl has requested for justice and financial help to start her life all over again. Vyas added that NCW had a copy of the girl's medical report which confirms rape and their organization will fight to get justice for the victim. The commission also forced the Chief Minister to hand over the case to a fast track court so that justice was not delayed. Vyas also met Shiney's wife Anupam Ahuja who said her husband was innocent and requested the background of the maid to be probed.
