Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty said Jade Goody's demise had saddened her. Goody passed away in her sleep in the wee hours of Sunday morning at her home in Essex after a prolonged battle with cervical cancer. Shilpa said that on the hindsight she was glad that the Goody passed away in her sleep and she was relieved of the pain and suffering she was going through.

Shilpa added that no words can express her heartfelt condolences to Goody's family members. Shilpa had gone to meet Jade in London but could not after the latter's condition had deteriorated. Shilpa and Goody had been a part of a racial controversy in the reality show Big Brother after Goody hurled racial abuse against Shilpa. Goody had later apologised for it and since then the two stars had maintained a cordial relationship.
