Muslim clerics divided on fatwa against Shahrukh

Wednesday, June 24, 2009, 14:48 [IST]
Just on the heels of the Mumbai Aman Committee, a religious organisation, complaining to the police on the comments made by Shahrukh Khan on Prophet Mohammed, Darul-uloom-Mazhar-e- Islam, an Islamic seminary, spent no time in issuing fatwa to the actor. But the Muslim clerics are divided on issuing the decree.

Mufti Mohammed Shoeb Raza Qadri and Mufti Muti-ur-Rehman of the Darul-uloom-Mazhar-e- Islam, who issued fatwa on Shahrukh said that a person who makes remarks like the one made by the actor is a non-believer and is to be thrown out of Islam. They added that such a person should apologise to get back to the faith.

However, many Muslim religious leaders are of the opinion that it is not necessary to issue fatwa to Shahrukh, as he has denied saying anything against Prophet Mohammed. Markazi Darul Ifta dismissed the decree issued to the actor, saying that it is unnecessary. Markazi Darul Ifta's spokesperson said that
there is no need issue fatwa if a person has denied making statements against the Prophet.

Ashraf Usmani, spokesperson of Darul-Uloom Deoband said that they have no plan to issue fatwa on Shahrukh. Another cleric Maulana Yaseen Misbahi said that the decree should not be issued based on media reports and speculations.

Shahrukh, who is currently busy shooting for Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan in Los Angeles, said that he has been misquoted. He said that there is no figure in history more important than Prophet Mohammed and that standing up for the tenets of Islam is his most important agenda in life.

Last week, the police has filed an FIR against the actor following complaint from Mumbai Aman Committee, who said that he has hurt the sentiments of the Muslims by his comments on Prophet Mohammed.

common ppl let's see first has he said it or not, or Is it a media's ploy to destroy muslim Icons, the only doubt is How can he say such words against our beloved prophet(pubh)? so we should anylize the truth first & its the rule in Islam to anylaize things. No matter anyone says anything about our beloved prophet (pubh), truth stands out clear, Read top 100 Men & u'll see Prophet Mohammed (pubh) as #1 person, read La'Martins Book on 100 Influential men of History u'll find Prophet Mohammed (pubh) as #1 person, Read 1974 Time Magazine Review on Top Men who change the world the way it was u'll find Prophet Mohammed (pubh) as #1, & for us Muslims we don't need any such testimonies coz we know undoubtedly the Perfect Man who walked this earth is Prophet Mohammed (pubh).

Salam to all muslims not other than, Muslims Believe on Allah as will as On Huzoor Nabi Kareem Raoofurrahim S.A.W, if any person believe only on Allah than that is not muslim, he must believe Allah & Aaqa Huzoor Rahmat e aalam S.A.W. Now the persons who are giving positive comments about sharukh, if they are non-muslims then that is in his beleives, if they are Muslims then they are taking side of Gustakhan e Rasool S.A.W, and they get out from Islam. If he want to live being a Muslim then please Say again LA ILAHA ILLALLAH MOHAMMAD-UR-RASOOL-UL-LLAH. The main and important fatwa of islam is that if any person give any statement (may be .01%) agianst Sardar e Kul Aalam, Jan e Jahan, Syad e Arabi, Huzoor por Noor, Fakhr e Do aalam, Mahmoob e Khuda, Shafa e Yawmunnoshoor, Saq e Koser, Merai Aaqa o Mola, Hazrat e Mohammad e Mustafa Sallallaho Alihe Wasallam, then if he Sorry millions time to Allah then He can’t forgive, his punishment will be death, its the rule of Islam. If the man is sharukh or any one. And for the person who are giving comments then they will also stand infront of Allah and Aaqa Huzoor S.A.W in the day of judgements. —–Aala Hazrat Imaam Ahmad Raza Khan said about Huzoor S.A.W—– Wo kamaal e Husn e Huzoor Hain ke Guman e Naqs Jahan Nahi Yahi Phool khaar se door hai, Yahi Shamma Hai ke Dhuwan Nahi Thanks, Syed Abdul Ghani From Pakistan

Special:All about Shah Rukh Khan An Islamic seminary has issued a fatwa against Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan for allegedly making comments against Islam even as Muslim religious leaders distanced themselves from the decree, calling it “unnecessary” as the actor has offered his clarification. “A person making a remark like the one attributed to Shah Rukh is a Kafir (non-beliver) and is struck out of Islam,” said the fatwa issued by Mufti Mohammed Shoeb Raza Qadri and Mufti Muti-ur-Rehman of Darul-uloom-Mazhar-e-Islam. In an Islamic state the person who makes such comments is liable to be killed, it said. His nikaah (marriage) also stands nullified, it said, adding that if the person making such statements dies as a “Kafir”, then he must not be buried in a Muslim graveyard. The person making such a remark must offer an immediate apology to return to Islam, the fatwa said. Shah Rukh Khan has strongly denied the comments attributed to him in an interview published in a magazine, saying he had been misquoted. Bareilly-based Markazi Darul Ifta, which is responsible for issuing fatwas for Barelvi sect, dismissed the decree saying the move by the two clercis was “unnecessary”. “If someone is saying that he has not made statements (against Prophet), then what is the need to issue a fatwa,” a spokesperson of Markazi Darul Ifta Maulana Shahbuddin said. Darul-Uloom Deoband spokesman Ashraf Usmani said, “We have no plans to issue such fatwa. The fatwa issued against Shah Rukh is not significant,” he said. Another cleric Maulana Yaseen Misbahi said, “Such kind of fatwa should not be issued on the basis of...
