This will surely be the mother of all remakes in the history of Bollywood when Abhishek Bachchan steps into the shoes of his father Amitabh Bachchan and plays Vijay Dinanath Chauhan in the remake of blockbuster Agneepath. Producer Karan Johar had earlier offered the role to Hrithik Roshan who had turned it down due to the lack of dates. Insiders however says Hrithik was apprehensive to step into Amitabh's big shoes.
Abhishek Bachchan has many a times said Agneepath was one of his favourite movies. So when Karan offered him the role he was more than happy to do it. Abhishek had once mentioned it was his dream to play one of his father's characters and Agneepath was perhaps the best offer he could have expected. The 1990 blockbuster was directed by Mukul S. Anand and produced by Karan's father Yash Johar. The remake will be directed by Karan Malhotra one of Johar's trusted lieutenants.
