Mohandas received standing ovation

When the end titles started rolling, everybody in Sri Fort Auditorium stood up to clap. "It was like a dream. Everybody stood up to applaud and it was so satisfying to see your maiden work receive such appreciation. I am humbled," comments the debut director Mazhar Kamran.

Director Mazhar Kamran's film Mohandas, starring Sonali Kulkarni, Nakul Vaid, Sharbani Mukherji, Sushant Singh, Aditya Srivastava and Govind Namdeo, was screened in the 10th Osian's Cinefan, Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema (OCFF10) on 17th July 2008 in Delhi. Mohandas is produced by Verthika Films.

[an error occurred while processing this directive]Another feather in his cap came in n form of a comment from a leading French critic Edouard Weintrop. According to him the cinematic sensibilities of Mohandas are of international standards and character of Mohandas has managed to derive compassion and anger both from the audience at the same time. In term of directorial finesse, he even drew parallels with the great film-makers like Guru Dutt, Mehboob, Bimal Roy and K. Asif.
