Manjari Phadnis is on cloud nine. For just her third mainstream film ever since she made her debut as a leading lady with Rok Sako To Rok Lo (and followed it up with Mumbai Salsa), Manjari has been nominated for Stardust Awards. For her performance as a second lead in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Manjari has been nominated in the 'Breakthrough Performance – Female' category.
"Of course I am ecstatic," says Manjari when quizzed on how she felt about being recognized for her effort, "The film took some time to start off and then release but I guess it was all worth it. Things fell into place at just the right time and today when the movie is such a huge success, my nomination is only acting as an icing on the cake. I am keeping my fingers crossed for the results that would be announced early 2009."

Tell her that competition is indeed tough, especially from the likes of Shahana and Mugdha, and she says, "It's good to have competition around. If I still go ahead and win, it would only make it sweeter for me. I won't be diplomatic here though I did work hard on my role and I certainly want to win."
From the team of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Manjari is not the only nomination. Imran Khan (Superstar of Tomorrow – Male), Genelia D'Souza (Superstar of Tomorrow – Female), Abbas Tyrewala (Hottest New Filmmaker), Prateik Babbar (Breakthrough Performance – Male) and the film itself (Hottest New Film) join Manjari as the countdown for the awards begin!
