Aniruddha bags International film award

The director of Anuranan, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, was awarded the Emerging Film-Maker Award at Santa Cruz Film Festival, held between 9 and 17 May in California. The Emerging Film-Maker Award is bestowed upon a debutante film-maker. The Santa Cruz Film Festival screened 148 films from 26 countries, where Anuranan was selected for the competitive section.

Anuranan was presented by Shemaroo Entertainment and Screenplay Films, with Rahul Bose, Rituparna Sengupta, Raima Sen and Rajat Kapoor playing lead roles.

Apna Asmaan bags German Star award

Courtesy: IndiaFMWednesday, July 25, 2007 Debutant Director Kaushik Roy has won the 'German Star of India' award for his film Apna Asmaan at the Stuttgart Bollywood and Beyond Film Festival. The Irrfan Khan-Shobana starrer was screened at the festival on July 14 and was selected from eight other movies short-listed for this award, which included Bheja Fry by Sagar Ballary, Manhattan Biryani by James Edward Duff and Anuranan by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury amongst others. The awards were announced at a ceremony held on.....

How is it different working in the Hindi film industry and the Bengali film industry? Well I am the No.1 actress in Bengal but I still have to prove myself in Mumbai. So, they are two different things. I still have a long way to go as I have not reached a stage where I can be paired with Aamir Khan. All I have to do is spend more time and do quality work in Mumbai which is not going to be.....
