BEWAKOOFIYAAN Reviews

oneindia.in

Bewakoofiyan, filled with a lot of funny moments and good performances, is a rom com you can go for. It doesn't have a major story to tell.

Film works in a very thinner thread which used to exist from the beginning of time - a girl loves a boy who is not very qualified up to the standards expected from his father in law.

One of the comments from audience after watching the film was - ‘It doesn't have anything in it. But feels good'. This would be the exact observation about Bewakoofiyan which is there to entertain you for some hours.

Ayushmann Khurrana who surprised audience with his exceptionally good performance in Vicky Donor, utterly disappoints us in this movie. Like her earlier films Sonam gives a flat performance. Sonam who hogged limelight with her bikini scene in this film, has not done justice with her character at all.

Even veteran actor like Rishi Kapoor fails to impress upon audiences with his funny antics. No major releases and long weekend may work in favour of Bewakoofiyaan.

BEWAKOOFIYAAN brings back memories of Anubhav Sinha's AAPKO PEHLE BHI KAHIN DEKHA HAI and Rahul Dholakia's KEHTAA HAI DIL BAAR BAAR, besides FATHER OF THE BRIDE and MEET THE PARENTS, of course.

On the whole, BEWAKOOFIYAAN springs a pleasant surprise. Watch this wonderful slice of life film for the super performances of Rishi, Ayushmann and Sonam, watertight writing, skilled direction and dollops of humor.

Bewakoofiyaan is a genteel, slice-of-life love story that runs with one of the oldest of the standard devices of the genre – strong parental opposition to a proposed marital liaison, with money, or rather the lack of it, playing a big part.

Bewakoofiyaan scores with its disarming simplicity. Even as it doesn’t soar to dizzying heights, it is never less than watchable.
