FIFA World Cup may play spoilsport to Raavan!

Bollywood is in dire straits. First, it was the Indian Premiere League (IPL) that ate into the revenue of the industry a couple of months ago. Now, the whole world is glued to television because of the ongoing FIFA World Cup in South Africa. And the much-hyped film Raavan is likely to be hit hard.

The hype around Raavan featuring Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Bachchan and Vikram has been so far so good. It is expected to do well at the box office like the recently released Raajneeti. However, the ongoing FIFA World Cup (which takes place once in four years) is likely to play spoilsport, as football lovers all over the world will not miss a match for a film. Even Abhishek said that he would support Brazil.

It looks like filmmaker Mani Ratnam has made a big mistake by choosing to release Raavan this football-fever season. Let's see when Raavan releases next Friday, June 18.

It may affect in the overseas but will not affect in India but still I would say Mani should have released bit earlier. Raajneeti is very lucky to have released earlier they have used brains because they know that FIFA world cup and heavy rains will stop people coming into theaters.
