Raavan becomes a butt of joke

Monday, June 21, 2010, 12:27 [IST]
Just as it happens with all the films that suffer from a poor word of mouth, Raavan starring Abhishek Bachchan, Vikram and Aishwarya Bachchan too is now bearing the brunt of it. With poor reviews from critics not helping the cause, the only place where this Mani Ratnam directed film is catching momentum is the world of Internet where it is the butt of many jokes. Twitter, Facebook, SMS - the jokes are all over which is not quite helping the cause much.

Here are some of the most popular ones which are finding far more positive word of mouth than the film itself:

'I watched Raavan on my computer. There were RAM issues'
'Raavan should not have been released in Gujarat. After all, it's a dry state, no?'

And this one is an absolute killer:
'The Raavonous Ten heads of Bollywood"s 'Hall of Evil" fame:

1. H S Rawail ki Deedaar E Yaar
2. Boney Kapoor ki Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja
3. Subhash Ghai ki Yaadein
4. Aditya Chopra ki Tashan
5. Rajkumar Santoshi ki China Gate
6. Sanjay Leela Bhansali ki Saawariya
7. Abhishek Bachchan ki Drona
8. Aamir khan ki Mann
9. RGV ki Aag
and now
10. Mani Ratnam ki Raavan

One can only expect the list to grow...

Abhishek has a very limited range of acting skills. I don't understand why producers keep wasting so much money on him. They should learn from Mani Ratnam's mistake. Mani's version with Vikram was a hit and Aish was in both; isn't it logical and obvious that Abhi is the weak link? It's unfair that his surname gets him so many chances, especially when other actors with consecutive flops are not signed for more films. Even Mithun's son is not getting as many chances as Abhishek.

of course Vik was far better cos he had done mega projects in the past such as Anniyan, sethu, kaasi and so on.. Whereas Abhi is not exposed to such acting.. in his 2nd attempt, h is not too bad.. thats my say!!

I read some where Manirathnam was taking retirement from movies. I think Abhishek should take retirement from movies. I really don't understand why this guy is still making in movies... OMG what a boring guy he is... if he is not son of Bachan then he would have ended his carrier after his first film. Some are just lucky...but they are painful to audiences :(

Its not too abd. Those who are Aish fans will be very happy to see her.She took lots of pain to complete this movie. Abhishek is not upto mark.Vikram is impressive.Still enjoyable.

surprised to see so much comments..sorry bad remarks for the film, some say its bad and some good. Ur your own judge, just keep to urself, dont raise a hue and cry and spoil the joy of movie watching. The movie was made with a lot of effort and high production values Lets atleast raise a toast for that. Think all this bad publicity is creating negative vibes and this should not influence public opinion.
