Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja was arrested on Monday morning in connection with the rape of his 18 year old maid servant. The actor had initially denied the charges and said it was consensual sex. The police said that Shiney later broke down and confessed his crime in tears. The preliminary medical tests conducted on the girl confirmed sexual assault rape after which the actor was taken into custody.

Shiney was produced in court later in the morning where he was booked for rape under Section 376 and also charged under Section 339 for wrongful restraint and Section 506 for threatening another person. An official spokesman on part of the Mumbai police said that the actor will be in police custody for the next two weeks for further interrogation.

The 18 year old domestic help who had been employed barely one and half month ago lodged an FIR with the Oshiwara police station alleging rape charges on Shiney. She said Shiney had raped her between 3pm to 5 pm while his wife Anupam Ahuja and their two and half year old daughter were not at home. Meanwhile the entire Bollywood is in a state of shock at the news with Mahesh Bhatt who had launched Shiney saying if he is guilty he should be punished severely.
