It's fashionable to highlight film reviewers' ratings in newspaper ads of movies. But, of late, a new trend seems to be catching up. The critics' ratings have been replaced with audience ratings.
Last week, the ads of Ek – The Power Of One highlighted '5 stars' - the verdict of the audiences, while the makers of 8x10 Tasveer have gone a step ahead. The ad states: '5 stars - audience verdict. 90% opening on Day 1.'
The interesting part is, even the tall claims failed to lure audiences to cinema halls.
