Sikander tells us more, "Summer Of 2007 is a coming-of-age film where five students go through different experiences in the interiors of India. We had a fantastic experience with the villagers while shooting for the film. For more than a month we shot around areas like Panchgani, Pasarni, Wai, Bhor etc."

While shooting at Pasarni, Sikander developed a craving for home-cooked food. "I decided to sample some authentic Marathi cuisine. The villagers were thrilled and started sending us food every day."
Says the debutant, "The meal comprised of one huge but wafer-thin chapatti, a khattha-meetha dal and dried chutneys. There were many mouth-watering variations of the chutney. I would eat them sparingly so I could bring them back with me. There was a red spicy garlic one called warhadi thecha, masala peanut chutney and yellow dry coconut one. They were all made fresh. I didn"t miss my chicken, eggs or protein shakes after that. Now that I am back in Mumbai, I miss the khaana. I have promised myself that I will go there again."
The city boy misses the village life. "There is no traffic there and the villagers lead simple lives. The air is purer and cleaner. When I would wake up, the first thing I would see was this huge green valley. The absolute silence in the village is an amazing experience."
Back in the city he was reported to have returned to his high-handed ways when he got photographers to delete his pictures at a recent event. Sikander laughs, "No. I am not big enough to do that. I just requested a few not to take any pictures till my first film"s release."
