Filmmaker Aditya Chopra, son of producer Yash Chopra, has filed a divorce petition before a family court in Mumbai with wife Payal Khanna, spurring up speculations that he is marrying Rani Mukherjee.
The mandatory six months period granted by the court to reconsider their decision is getting over in May. The estranged couple had opted for an out-of-court settlement after three joint meetings. Payal is expected to get more than Rs.20 crore and a spacious bungalow in Juhu.
Meanwhile, Aditya's family is said to be not too happy with the decision. They get along so well with Payal Khanna but Aditya is adamant that he divorce his wife of five years. It was rumoured that Rani Mukherjee's relationship with Aditya is the reason for the breakup.
