After three years of togetherness, it's over between Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. The couple, often touted as 'most-likely-to-stick- together', has split.
And as in most love stories, the divide is the result of the relationship becoming too crowded. Saif Ali Khan's entry has pushed Shahid out of the love equation.
A source says, "Bebo and Saif behave like teenagers in love. They constantly send each other lovey-dovey messages and even have photos of one another on their phones."
Instant attraction
However, Kareena is somewhat wary of the commitment-phobic Khan. That's why she is not going to town about her love for him. "Bebo craves security, but she's not sure how committed Saif is after his break-up with Amrita Singh and Rozza.
However, Saif cares about her deeply. Bebo is a warm person and a great friend to hang around with. He can't help being attracted to her," says a source.
As reported ('There's something about Saif', August 27), Khan and Kareena became close while shooting for Yash Raj Films' Tashan. This comes close on the heels of rumours that her relationship with Shahid is on the rocks.
Apparently, the couple has been having problems for some time. "Every relationship goes through ups and downs, and so has theirs. They've had loads of fights but have always stood by each other.
Usually, distance makes the heart grow fonder, but in their case, it has made the heart flounder."

A close friend of Shahid reveals that the actor is clueless about Saif's closeness to Bebo as he's in Canada shooting for Nagesh Kukunoor's Tasveer. "I don't think Shahid is aware about Saif and Kareena.
It'll surely come as a shock to him. As far as he knows, they're still together. Maybe it's over from Kareena's side," says the friend.
Comparisons are odious but that's exactly what happened in the Aishwarya Bachchan-Vivek Oberoi saga.
Abhishek Bachchan and Ash became close on the sets on Guru, but Vivek scoffed at the rumours. That was until he read about a source close to Ash admitting to this paper that she was no longer interested in him.
Kareena chose not to comment on the story, but a source close to her claims, "Shahid and Bebo are very much together. It's just that their shooting commitments have kept them busy, so they haven't been able to meet each other for nearly two months."
Is it serious?
The big question now is: just how serious is Saif about Kareena? While she's been in a committed relationship for three years now, for Saif it's a case of exit-Bipasha, enter-Kareena. The chote nawab is in the mood to play the field, so will the liaison last?
It's hard to say, really. If Saif is truly in love, it's time he got serious and made a commitment. Right now, neither is thinking of the future. It's all about living in the moment.
However, things are now up to Shahid. Once he's in the know, will he forgive his girlfriend's transgression if she comes back to him? We'll let you know.
