Exclusive Interview: Amit Sadh
It's been a long journey for actor Amit Sadh of Kai Po Che fame in the tinselville. The good looking actor has become the hot property of Bollywood, after he stunned the audience with his powerful performance in Kai Po Che. Amit, who is on the seventh heaven after the super success of Kai Po Che had an exclusive tete-e-tete with Nabanita Maji from Oneindia. During this short chit chat, Amit spoke extensively about his experience while working for Kai Po Che and his upcoming projects.

You have been a well-known name in the television industry. How did it all happen to you initially?
I left television six years back to pursue films. I had auditioned for a role, they liked me and gave me the role. And then when you make it big on the screens, you reach to something else and then it goes on and on. Television gave me a good run. Then I decided to do films and I started auditioning again. But this time, it was difficult. For television it took me six months, for movies it took me six years. But I believe that one needs to wait for great things to happen in life. And, I'm really happy that I waited for Kai Po Che.

Did you dream of becoming an actor ever since you were a kid?
Nope, I always wanted to become a sportsman or join the army. The idea of becoming an actor came to me really late.

Your recent film Kai Po Che received great reviews. How does it feel?
It feels great, it matters. When an artist does something, he wants appreciation. I'm glad that it is being appreciated and it is making money for the producers as well. Everyone is being applauded, so it's a great feeling that we did something and the whole world is appreciating. It's wonderful.

How was it working with Abhishek Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput and Rajkumar Yadav?
It was a life changing experience. The whole crew was great, great director, amazing co-actors. It was all about learning, since my role in the film was quite difficult, so overwhelming.

How difficult do you think it is for a newcomer to make his own identity and achieve success in Bollywood?
It's difficult of course, because people don't know you, they doubt you. You just have to keep going and trying. There's no substitute to work hard. You need people to believe in you. I'm very grateful to my director, producer Ronnie sir and UTV who had belief in me. So, that's a big thing for me. I know one thing... you have to wait for your time, work hard, keep your eye on the ball, stay humble, be grounded and be polite and respect people and time.

Now that you are a well-known name in Bollywood, would you work on small screen if offered any script?
Right now, I just want to do movies. I have waited for it for six years, why would I leave this then? If I get good work later, I will take it up.

Do you think that Bollywood is all about the Khans, Kapoors and Bachchans only?
Nobody can take their place, they will always be the superstars. We have to salute them and we can learn so much from them. But, you know, it is a beautiful industry and Bollywood is growing, we make great films.

Are you happy with the way your career is shaping up?
Of course, I'm very happy with that.

What are your upcoming projects?
At the moment, I can't talk about it much. I'll wait for my producers to announce it. I'm meeting a lot of people and have a lot of offers. I think my producers will make the announcements at the right time.

Any dream role?
Every role will be my dream role.
