Ajay Devgn began dating Kajol in 1994, while filming for Gundaraj. It is said that Ajay was impressed by Kajol's vivaciousness and natural charm, and Kajol was impressed by Ajay's reserved but sensible nature.

Ajay said that they never resorted to the usual 'I Love you' routine and a proposal never happened. They grew with each other and marriage was never discussed, but it was always imminent.

Ajay-Kajol dated for few years even before marriage. They got married on 24 February 1999 in a traditional Maharashtrian style ceremony at the Devgn house.

Certain members of media critisised Kajol's decision to get married at the peak of her career. There were even rumours that post marriage, Ajay didn't allow Kajol to do movies, but later Kajol clarified saying that she would just reduce the amount of work that she did.

In 2001, Kajol was pregnant with her first child but suffered from a miscarriage. On 20 April 2003, Kajol gave birth to a daughter, Nysa and seven years later, she gave birth to a son, Yug, ie., on 13 September 2010. Kajol described motherhood as "fab". She also said that her kids brought out "the best in her".

It is said that Kajol is strict with her children while Ajay doesn't like Kajol scolding them in his presence. Kajol said to a leading daily, "I have to be strict because I'm more of an 'at home' parent. When Ajay is around, it's playtime. Our children are used to me in his absence."

Kajol and Ajay have done few movies together. First one being Gundaraj, then they were seen in Pyar to Hona Hi Tha and Dil Kya Kare, Ishq and Toonpur Ka Superhero.

Kajol and Ajay were paired together in films Raju Chacha and U Me Aur Hum, which were produced by Ajay himself. The couple also had lend their voice for Hindi version of Eega - Makhi.

Kajol and Ajay are seen together in many events and also award functions.

Kajol and Ajay Devgn are involved in many social activities. Both are supporting Coca Cola-NDTV's Support My School campaign and they have donated Rs 10 lakhs.

Recently, Ajay and Kajol were seen in Shaumbhari Devi Temple seeking prayers for the success of Ajay's upcoming film Himmatwala which is set for release next month. But the actor denied saying that it was just a spiritual visit.

The couple was also seen as a talent judge for Zee TV's reality show, Rock-N-Roll Family along with Tanuja.

Ajay, who marked his directorial debut with U, Me Aur Hum, took it upon himself to shoot Kajol in the commercial of Sangini jewellery. Both look cute in this print ad.

Though many rumours tried to spoil their married life, they didn't give an ear to any and went strong with their marriage. They are so much in love with each other. Media linked Devgn with other actresses. But Ajay clarified by saying there is nothing as such.

It is said that Kajol will be taking her kids Nysa and Yug to Bhopal, where her hubby dear is shooting for Prakash Jha's Satyagraha, so that they can all spend quality time together.
