Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), was the directorial debut of Aditya Chopra, who also penned the story. The movie directed by Aditya and produced by Yash is a love story, which was released on 25th anniversary of Yash Raj Films. The movie starred famous jodi: Shahrukh Khan and Kajol Devgn. The dialogue, "Bade Bade Deshon Me Aisi Chhoti Chhoti Baatein Hoti Rehti Hain...,Sanorita" is uttered by all youngsters to woo girls even now.

Karan Johar made his acting debut in this film as Raj's (Shahrukh) friend. Aditya wanted it to be an Indo-American affair and for the role of Raj, he wanted to cast Tom Cruise. But later, since Yash did not want to cast him, the idea was dropped. It is also said that SRK initially refused the film, but later convinced him to do it. Aditya also thought of approaching Saif Ali Khan, if SRK didn't agree. In 2001, DDLJ broke the continuous exhibition record of the movie Sholay at Minerva theatre (5 years, 1975-1980). Also in February 2010, it celebrated continuous run of 750 weeks.

The music became the best selling Bollywood soundtrack of the year. A sequence of the song 'Tujhe Dekha To' was shot amidst the yellow sarson flowers in Gurgaon. It is said that the first song to be recorded was 'Mere Khwaboon Mein' and before finalising the song, Aditya rejected 24 verses by Anand Bakshi. 'Mehndi Laga Ke' became an all-time hit, and is played in weddings even today. Other songs 'Ho Gaya Hai Tujhko', 'Zara Sa Jhoom' and 'Ghar Aaja Pardesi' also are quite famous even now.

Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), directed by Yash Chopra and produced by Yash and Aditya Chopra, is a musical romantic drama, which revolves around four lovers played by Shahrukh, Akshay Kumar, Madhuri Dixit and Karisma Kapoor. The role of Nisha, played by Karisma Kapoor was before offered to Raveena Tandon, Juhi Chawla, Kajol, Manisha Koirala and Shilpa Shetty. Initially the movie was titled "Maine To Mohabbat Ki Hai". This movie was the second highest grossing movie of 1997. It was the first Bollywood movie to be shot in the German theme park Europa Park and Baden-Baden, Germany.

The film was Shiamak Davar's debut as film choreographer and he also won Filmfare award for Best Choreography. The album became the best selling Bollywood soundtrack of the year. The music was superhit amongst public. 'Mohabbat Karl' song was from Hindipop album released by Shiamak Davar. Title track, 'Pyaar kar', 'Dholna', 'Bholi Si Surat', 'Are Re Are', 'Koi Ladkhi Hai', 'Ek Duje Ke Vaste', 'Le Gayi', are also very popular and are remembered even now.

Other upcoming projects:

Ek Tha Tiger is a romantic action thriller, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Kabir Khan.

Untitled movie (rumoured title - Yeh Kahaan Aa Gaye Hum), which is considered Yash Chopra's comeback as director, features Shahrukh, Katrina Kaif and Anushkha Sharma in lead roles. Music is composed by AR Rahman and lyrics by Gulzar. The film was rumoured to be a Diwali 2012 release.

Dhoom 3 an action thriller, which will be releasing in 2013, is written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra, has Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Uday Chopra in the lead roles.
