In a nation like India, where half the population is obsessed with Bollywood celebrities, any publicity gimmick work wonders for these fame-hungry stars. No matter what problem or crisis our nation is going through everyday, common people never lose their strong cravings for some Bollywood gossips. Bollywood stars are always kept under the media scanner and their every single move gets scrutinized. People love them, adore them, praise them, and criticise them for whatever they do. And, when it comes to the top stars of the tinselville like Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, media doesn't ever leave a single stone unturned to spare them from controversies. Shahrukh Khan

Many feel that Shahrukh Khan should be renamed as "The King of controversies", rather than "The King of Bollywood." In the year 2010, Shahrukh was apparently detained at the Newark Airport for more than 2 hours and subjected to longer than usual security checks allegedly due to his last name. He was at the time promoting My Name is Khan (2010) and there was buzz of it being a publicity stunt.

Salman Khan

This man has always been upto something, that have always given him a bad name. A while ago, there were rumours that Ek Tha Tiger's director Kabir Khan was very upset with Salman due to his bossy behaviour. But, Kabir Khan never confirmed any such tension and have maintained that he shares a great rapport with the actor. It was believed that this rumoured cold war was possibly a publicity gimmick for ETT.

Saif Ali Khan

Here come the Badshaah of publicity stunts. How can we forget the recent fight, that took place between the chhote nawaab and an industrialist at a restaurant? Sometime back, Saif Ali Khan was trapped in a legal hassle after allegedly slapping an NRI at a five-star hotel. This happened at the time, when Saif-Kareena's film Agent Vinod was about to release. Many term this as a publicity gimmick, in order to pull the audience for the movie, while Saif had refuted such claims.

Aamir Khan

Even our very own Mr Perfectionist didn't get spared from such allegations. A few months back, when Aamir Khan attended the wedding of an auto-rickshaw driver's son's wedding, people and media tried to dig deep into the matter. While many called it a publicity gimmick, a few others praised the actor for his greatness.
