Political outfits take care of My Name is Khan publicity

No publicity is bad publicity. Shahrukh Khan and Kajol were busy promoting their latest offering My Name is Khan abroad. What about its promotion back home? They don"t have to worry because the political outfits live Shiv Sena, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal have taken care of its publicity in India.

In fact, the lead pair Shahrukh and Kajol, for that matter even the maker of the film Karan Johar, just can"t openly promote their film, as the political outfits have made a big issue out of Shahrukh"s comment on the inclusion of Pakistan cricketers in IPL and his stand that 'Mumbai is for all Indians". But the public is having enough of the film through the outcry of the Shiv Sena, the VHP and the Bajrang Dal.

Even as the Shiv Sena has softened its stand on banning the release of My Name is Khan in Mumbai with its chief Bal Thackeray stating that his party would not disrupt the release of the film, VHP has made sure that its promotion continues by calling for a nation-wide boycott. The Orrisa unit of the Bajrang Dal to have joined the dirty waters by calling for a nation-wide ban of the film.

However, the public and political parties including the Congress and the BJP are behind Shahrukh Khan. The Mumbai police have also assured full protection to the theatres screening the film in Mumbai and over thousand Shiv Sena activists have been arrested in Mumbai for violent protest.

So, it looks like the efforts of the political outfits will turn into just publicity material for My Name is Khan, which is releasing this Friday (February 12).

Abhishek keeps mum on Shahrukh-Shiv Sena issue

Many Bollywood stars including Salman Khan have spoken in support of actor Shahrukh Khan over the Shiv Sena's threat to ban the screening of My Name is Khan in Mumbai, but Abhishek Bachchan has decided to keep mum on the issue.

Asked about his view on the Shahrukh-Sena issue, Abhishek said that his job is only to act and would continue to do that. He refused to comment on the issue but revealed that he had turned down to host Kaun Banega.....

More about My Name Is Khan

The entry of corporate section into Bollywood is a recent phenomenon but there have been two production houses that had already imbibed the culture long back. We are obviously referring to Yash Raj Films and Dharma Productions, who have more or less stuck to their shooting, pre and post-production and release schedules. While the next three releases from Yash Raj Films, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Roadside Romeo and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi already have their release dates announced, not.....

The entire film watching community in India has been fooled successfully by SRK and KJo. Just to hype the movie MNIK SRK gave a statement saying that he regrets that no Pak cricket players were taken(If he was so bothered he should have taken a few who prevented/objected him). He just gave the statement to please non Indian muslims who watch his movie abroad. But Shiv Sena jumped in the bandwagon and helped a very poor movie get record opening. Media is equally to be blamed. When there are more grave issues bugging India the news channels act like entertainment channels and keep giving publicity to SRK, AB, actors in general specifically Yash Raj and KJo and SRK etc free of cost(Or may be someone should probe if they are paid to do so). The recent movie RANN deciepts this to some extent successfully. I am deeply saddened by the bomb blast in Pune yesterday. The security that should have been gaurding the streets of maharastra were gaurding theatres because of Shiva Sena and the CM. SRK and KJo had the last laugh and the innocent 9 people lost their lives. Hope in future the government does not bother. 9 human lives are much more precious than ensuring success of a movie. Will these people give back the 9 innocent lives who could have been saved had security not been diverted to gaurd movie theatres.

SRK is the youth icon in the country. He has made the brand SRK, not by befooling people! He can never dare to do that. People who find his success story enviable, says such rubbish things. But none can stand to the commitment he has for his work! He was not born with a silver spoon....if he can make it to KING khan........he has done dat by sheer hardwork....those who don't understand this...can never realise dat why he has never ever taken help of such dirty publicity stunts.....atleast better than those....who can keep a dog's name on Shahrukh for his publicity! So people....take things the way they are really! Don't mix events...which may seem to b suspicious! But judge his passion and hard work as well.....i would have agreed,if this was for billu barber or RNBDJ. But this film has SRK,kajol pair and Fox searchlights supporting them. So they have enough materials to publicize.... he doesn't need Bal Thakrey or shiva sena to promote his film.
