His first film Refugee is still fresh in the minds of the film lovers, but the fact is, it was released 10 years ago. That means Abhishek has completed a decade run in the film industry today.
33-year-old Abhishek's first Hindi film Refugee was released on this day, June 30, in 2000. He debuted with another debutante Kareena Kapoor in this J.P. Dutta directed film. It didn't live up to the expectations but the actor didn't stop going. He went on to act in about 48 films in his one decade of run in Bollywood. Some of his hit films include Dhoom, Yuva, Bunty Aur Babli, Sarkar, Dus, Bluffmaster, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Sarkar Raj, Dostana and Paa. He has received several awards including Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Through Refugee, Abhishek had a break that many of his counterparts in Bollywood could never dreamed of. It was because he is the son of Bollywood star couple Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan. In the meantime, he has been compared to his dad, who is a mighty figure in Indian cinema, but he came put of his shadows sooner than expected. Then there's threat from his own other half Aishwarya, who has huge fans following all over the world. But Abhishek has been keeping his head high and never let comparisons spoil his day.
