Chocolate boy Ranbir Kapoor"s heart must be pumping like never before, as his third film Wake Up Sid is all set for release tomorrow, 2nd October. It has been in the news ever since it was launched and it has got enough hype and publicity.
Wake Up Sid is a romantic comedy and is all about a lazy, unmotivated lad from Mumbai, whose life starts changing after getting out of college. This carefree and irresponsible guy is attached to his friends, his camera, his car and his video game. He doesn"t share good rapport with his mother and takes his father"s hard-earned wealth for granted.
In the meantime, he is an honest and humorous guy. He meets an aspiring writer, who has come all the way to Mumbai to realize her dreams. They become best friends in spite of theie contrasting personalities. The rest of the story is about how this party-loving boy changes his life after taking a hard look at himself. Ranbir Kapoor plays the role of the carefree boy and Konkona Sen Sharma plays the aspiring writer.

Konkona Sen Sharma, who has won two National Awards for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, is trying her hands in romantic film with young-looking actor Ranbir. Interestingly, the film depicts the chemistry between a young college student and an older woman. Konkona is trying to change her image this time around – as a girl-next-door.
Director turned producer Karan Johar is one of the highlights of the film though he is not acting, as his inputs could make a lot of difference. He has hit films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and Dostana to his credit.
Ayan Mukerji, who assisted Karan Johar in Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and Ashutosh Gowarikar in Swades, is directing Wake Up Sid. Actors like Anupam Kher, Supriya Pathak and Rahul Khanna also play different vital roles in the film.
