[an error occurred while processing this directive]From ramp modeling to ad films to television and finally to films she has done it all. Internationally, she has also acted for many Pakistani TV serials, among which Kuch Dil Se is most credited. However she is still best remembered for her portrayal of Kkusum in the serial of the same name and now she is all set to make her Bollywood debut with the upcoming film Three Love, Lies Betrayal. We are talking about the gorgeous Nausheen Ali Sardar. We caught up with the ever busy lass to find out more about her film.

First thing first! Hardly anything is known about you, so tell us a bit about yourself?
Well! I started my career with modeling and I wanted to get into films, however at the time I was just 15 and my parents wouldn't allow that. So I carried on with ramp shows. When I got bored, I switched to ad films and modeling, later it became a series of sorts and I went on from there. Also at that time films weren't appreciated much by protective parents so I did music videos. Besides as a kid I would always end up in front of the mirror, I think I always knew that I wanted to become an actor.

We hear you have 5 dogs - 2 Rottweilers, 2 pugs and 1 stray, how did this passion evolve?
This passion, as you say, was right there from the time I was a kid. I always wanted a dog but my mom was really apprehensive and didn't let me get one. Then when I got Kkusum there were lots of strangers coming home, that is when I convinced mom to get a dog, more for our protection than as a pet.

You started off with TV and later progressed to films, what was the reason for this shift?
Yes! actually I got bored of TV after the first year itself. How I dragged on for another 2 years, I don't know, though there was lots of money, fame and globe trotting involved in it, I wasn't really happy. In fact when I was leaving I was offered huge amount of money but my heart was not in it. I wanted satisfaction not money.

Besides you have also done TV in Pakistan, how different is Indian cinema and TV from theirs?
Both of them are actually quite different. Here in India we have better technical equipment and skilled manpower though the stories are mostly similar to each other. While on the other hand Pakistani scripts are much better than the Indian ones, though there is hardly any gloss in their serials.

Talking about your upcoming film Three- Love Lies Betrayal, what's it all about?
It's basically about a stranger coming into the house to stay. My husband and I have certain problems, and that's where this new guy steps in and I kind of develop a soft corner for him. Later I fall in love with him. However he isn't in love with me and he isn't the man of my dreams either. He literally turns our life into a living hell.

What made you sign on for this film?
When I was narrated the script, I remember getting a call from Vishal and he said that he was calling from Vikram Bhatt's office and they had a story they wanted me to be part off. I was out of Mumbai and went back a week later and that's when they spoke about Anjani Dutt the only female character in the film. This was it! The moment that I had been waiting for. I knew that I could do lead roles and didn't want to do anything else, that's one reason why till now you haven't seen me playing a bhabhi or something. I knew I wanted a lead and I believed that I would get it. This was the main reason that I signed on, apart from the script and story being very interesting.

How were Ashish and Akshay as co stars?
Ashish was a lot of fun on the sets while Akshay was the more serious one. Besides he also has a slight language problem as he is an American, so he concentrates more on the Hindi dialects while talking and is totally into his script so he can do it well. But they both are really good actors.

Considering that the film is a thriller, what was the scariest shot that you guys had to give?
There was no scary moment as such but there are quite a few stunts, like in one sequence I am supposed to drive a car at a really high speed, and things like that.

Any accident that happened on the sets?
The thing was that Ashish was driving a car and he forgot to put it in neutral gear when he stopped the car. So what happened was that it started rolling on its own and landed in a ditch. However Vikram was so nice, the first thing he asked was whether anyone was hurt. Not once did he think about the cost that was involved in that little accident.

We also here that Ashish and Vishal were absolute pranksters on sets, what was that like?
Well! Ashish and Vishal both of them are absolute pranksters, I remember they decided to give me blank calls in the night and put the blame on Akshay. But I knew there was something cooking. When I blamed Vishal he turned the tables saying 'what are you talking about?' So finally I just kept the receiver off the hook.

This being your first film as a lead actress, what was the feeling like?
I felt really great, that I got what I wanted because I will never compromise on what I want. So I wanted a lead and got just that. I know that I will always get what I want. Patience pays.

What about the music of the film?
The music of the film is quite amazing it spans over a total of five different genres, from romantic, to slow soft numbers, to peppy beats. I just can't stop listening to the songs, it's like there is a song for almost every mood in the film.

What's next after this?
Right now I am just reading scripts and don't really want to jump into something without considering all the facets. The reason behind this is that I have made mistakes in the past and don't want to repeat them. Besides the producer of the film should also be good, if not, a certain amount of the film gets shot and then they are out of funds. The film ends up being shelved and I really don't want this to happen. So I am keeping my options open and am waiting for the right film to come along.

What about TV? Will you ever return to doing soaps?
No I don't think I will ever return to doing soaps. That phase is over and I will not go back to doing it again. Here is where I am getting all the creative satisfaction that I want.

On a closing note, what would you tell the audience so they don't give this film a miss and what should they watch out for in the film?
Well the script and the story line of the film itself are so interesting with so many twists and turns that the audience can't miss it. Besides that the performances by the cast are also really good. So please go out there and watch the film. Also, forget the fact that there are mostly new comers and that there are no Khans or Kapoors. For a fact, I can't wait to watch it sitting in Chandan theatre.
