[an error occurred while processing this directive] After directing hugely successful films like Dhoom and Dhoom 2, director Sanjay Gadhvi is back with yet another action thriller - Kidnap. The film, produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd. stars Sanjay Dutt, Imran Khan and Minissha Lamba in lead roles.
The film's story has been written by well known writer Shibani Bathija who has in the past written some really big films like Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Fanaa. With the promos creating a lot of buzz, Shibani is naturally excited and looking forward to the audience response to this flick.
In fact, the talented writer has quite an interesting story to tell of how Imran had been finalized for this project. "A friend of mine had seen Imran at Aamir Khan Productions' office and said he looked interesting. 'Interesting' is what we exactly needed for Kabir's character so I mentioned his name to Sanjay (Gadhvi). Sanjay saw Imran and called me immediately to say that we had found Kabir"

He was exactly what I had in mind when I wrote the character of Kabir four years before setting eyes on him. Kidnap was destined for Imran."
Continuing in the same vein, she adds, "Kidnap is a man v/s boy story. It's a David and Goliath saga so we needed the competition to look unequal. Imran's rawness and boyishness works vis-a-vis the larger-than-life persona of Sanjay Dutt'."
Even director Sanjay Gadhvi seems to be happy with the way the film has shaped up. "I am proud of Shibani because she wrote the script of Kidnap even before she worked on Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Fanaa. This is really one of her initial scripts. It so happened that these films released before and we started making Kidnap only last year. As for Imran, I signed him much before the release of Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na. So when the latter became a hit and everyone went gaga over Imran, I said, 'this is just the beginning....wait till you see him in Kidnap!'"
Well after this, we too can't wait to watch the clash of Sanju and Imran on screen as Kidnap opens across cinema halls on Oct 2.
