Published: Thursday, October 5, 2006, 11:23 [IST]

Judwaa, Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and a host of many other blockbusters. IndiaFM has an exclusive chat with Sajid Nadiadwala who speaks about the upcoming biggie, Jaan- E-Mann and his forthcoming films.

Jaan-e-mann is gearing up for release. Any pre release jitters?
Pre release jitters have always been there. Jaan-E-Mann is an important film. We are releasing it with around 1200 prints and hence it is a huge film. Nervousness is bound to be there.

Do you think the prospects of Jaan-e-Mann will be dampened as it releases with Don?
No. Both films will have its audience.

How did Anupam manage to be a dwarf? Was it done technically?
It was done technically. Anupam was tied to his knees. It was actually Shirish's idea. It seems very simple to think but when actually you do it, it is very difficult. We needed a lot of patience to go through all the scenes. But the end result has really paid off.

What is the UFO Advantage? Is it their first movie?
It is our first tie up with UFO. It is actually digital cinema through satellite. Earlier what used to happen was that the A and B centers could see the movies and then the movies would go to the C centers. With this technology, all the three centers can view the film together. So that is one advantage. It will curb piracy which is another major advantage.

Will you be working with Shirish Kunder again after the rumor of you and him having a tiff?
Shirish is a member of my family. It was a rumor only. Some publication bought the issue up with no idea of what the truth is. The fact is he will always be a part of my family. Another publication had printed the facts that there is nothing wrong with us, but it was just a small column. Basically people just hype rumors but the fact is suppressed.

After Salman, Akshay seems to be your lucky mascot.
Salman is my lucky mascot but me and Akshay Kumar go back a long way. He was in my school 25 years back. Even initially in Akshay's career, we did Waqt Hamara Hai together. Salman is a busy star. I cannot ask him all the time to remove time for me during his busy schedule. I know he will remove time and do it but it is not right. With Akshay I enjoy working. We have been close since very long.

Is Jaan-e-Mann old wine in new bottle?
Not really. It is a modern age entertainer.

What is your relation with Farah Khan as you are giving all her family members a break?
Farah Khan, Shirish and Sajid are family to me. I hope Farah Khan will give me a break someday. What people have seen in Main Hoon Na was the tip of the iceberg. There is so much more to Farah Khan.

You announced that you are investing 100 crores on new directors after Jaan-e-mann. One is Hey Baby. The other two are?
Well Jaan-E-Mann is the first of the three. The second is Hey Baby by Sajid Khan. The third movie is to be directed by Sabir Khan which is still under scripting.

When does Hey Baby start and release?
We start shooting for Hey Baby next month and we are trying for a June release.

Is Hey Baby a remake of Baby's Day Out?
No it is not a copy. The only common factor is a baby but nothing else. It is an emotional movie with elements of comedy in it. It is directed by Sajid Khan.

Are you making Judwaa 2?
Not yet. We are still planning. Work on script is on. At least not this year.

What is your equation with Firoz Nadiadwala?
Firoz is my cousin brother. My dad and his dad were real brothers. I have grown under him. I always look up to him. We do not talk on topics regarding professional terms but we do take interests in our personal lives.
