Moushmi Chatterji on Zindaggi Rocks

Veteran actress Moushmi Chatterjee is among those beautiful talented actresses, who made a mark during her time. After a short comeback stint in films like Na Tum Jaano Na Hum and Hum Kaun Hai, she is back with Tanuja Chandra's forthcoming venture Zindaggi Rocks, where we will see a lot of her considering she is playing a double role in the film.

What is your role in Zindaggi Rocks?
I am playing a double role. One is funny and a little crack, while the other one is serious. Both sisters are different from each other totally. These are two interesting roles that came my way and I really enjoyed my part.

What made you sign up for this movie?
I wanted to work with Tanuja Chandra. It feels great that women are creating their space in a male dominated world. Tanuja is one of them and I love to encourage her. Apart from that I like my role. I like Tanuja's efforts and the way she has cast women in this movie. I like the script as there are different kinds of emotions in the same.

How is Tanuja as a director?
Tanuja is very happy go lucky girl. She knows her job well. She has lot of patience and doesn't lose her cool fast. She is really a cool person.

How was it like working with Sushmita and Shiny?
It was like a picnic and all of us enjoyed every bit of it. Sushmita is very sensitive and a warm person. Shiny is like me, sometime serious and sometimes mad. I have seen his other movies too. I like him as an actor and I appreciate him because he is serious about his work. He is a hard working boy.

Since Zindaggi Rocks is complete, are you missing them all?
Yes, the movie is over and I am really missing everyone. It was a lovely location where we shot Zindaggi... It feels sad when a picture gets over. One thing is really strange in our industry that when we work together, we are a family and after the film gets over we becomes strangers.

What are you working on besides this film?
I am reading a few scripts. And I hope I will do better job as I am learning each day and try to give my best in my every film. I hope people will like me in Zindaggi Rocks too.

How does it feel coming back to films after a break?
I was never a busy actor in my entire career. I am from Kolkata. I am married to popular yesteryear singer Hemant Kumar's son and after my marriage I joined the Hindi film industry. I have balanced my career and family. Apart from that I have two lovely daughters. So I have played several roles in my life.

Where do you see yourself in the industry and how was your experience so far?
God is not only kind but he was quite partial to me. He has given me so much. The loveliest thing that he blessed me with is my two daughters Payal and Megha. They are awesome. And off course without the support of my husband I would have never enjoyed my life and wouldn't have been doing the things that I am doing today. I have learnt lot of things from Hemant Kumar. He was a lovely and down to earth person. People say he was not only a very good singer but also a fantastic human being.

There was a buzz about your daughter Megha's film. When is she making her debut in Hindi films?
She has already done one Bengali movie and has also signed one more film. She has been appreciated for her work. She began her work with the same director, who had offered me my first Bengali movie. And now she has signed two Hindi movies which will start from October.
