Bengali movie Janala releasing on Feb 25

Director Buddhadeb Dasgupta's latest Bengali movie Janala, which stars Indraneil Sengupta and Swastika Mukherjee in the leads, is all set to hit the screens this weekend. The movie, which has already received rave reviews from the critics in several International Film Festivals, is now ready to wow the local audience.

Besides direction, Buddhadeb has also penned story for the film Janala. It is an attempt to be a reminiscent of the times when we sometimes try to make a simple dream come true, but the cogs of destiny leave us feeling unfulfilled. The story touches on the nostalgia of childhood and the quest to get back to roots while struggling to keep one's neck above the waters.

Janala tells the story about a man, Bimal, who decides to give a little back to his old school despite the fact he has very little money himself. As a child Bimal had a favourite corner classroom where he used to sit and daydream out of a broken window, and so when he finds himself back in his old school he feels compelled to replace the window. What happens next will form the crux.

The film has been produced by Reliance Pictures. Biswadeb Dasgupta has composed music for the film. It has already been screened 15 International Film Festivals held in Toronto, Telluride, US, London, Mumbai, Hong Kong, India, New York and Dubai. It has received lot of appreciation from the film critics across the globe.
