Actress Suchitra Sen has been rushed to hospital after she complained of breathing problem. She has been admitted to Belle Vue Clinic, a multi speciality tertiary care hospital in Kolkata and critical care specialist Subroto Moitra is treating the actress. The hospital sources say that she is recovering fast.

Sources claim that the legendary Bengali actress was admitted to the hospital on June 20 and the doctors were unable to find the actual reason for her illness. But on Thursday, they found out that she is suffering from respiratory infection and chest congestion.

Now, she has been kept under observation in the intensive therapy unit and her condition is stable, say the hospital source. "Suchitra Sen is responding to the treatment and will be kept under observation for some more days," sources quote Pradeep Tandon, the CEO of Belle Vue, as saying.

However, Suchitra Sen, who turned 79 in April, has paired opposite another legendary Bengali actor Uttam Kumar in several movies. Most of them are considered all-time classics in Bengali cinema and they are still shown as re-runs on Bengali TV channels. She was not seen in public since she quit the film world in the late 1970s. She was admitted to the same hospital twice in the last two years.
